Fire damages Columbia business (The State)
A Columbia business suffered fire damage this morning.
The Columbia-Richland Fire Department was called to Graham Mattress and
Manufacturing Co. on the 1400 block of Ellerbe Street around 7 a.m., spokesman
Brick Lewis said.
Two buildings joined by a metal frame structure suffered a combined $30,000 in
damage before the fire could be extinguised, Lewis said.
The majority of the fire was at 1429 Ellerbe St., the store side of the
business. The metal structure and a work area at adjoining 1419 Ellerbe St.
also were lightly damaged.
No cause has been determined. The Richland County Fire Marshal is
investigating.
